with iD.Twisted on pre-WCG thoughts, life,
and StarCraft

Twisted - our precious Twisted, goes to WCG
Netherlands. Everyone has crossed their fingers
for the others attending, because being able
to "withstand", so to speak, this insanely
strong character is a job on it's own. Gogogo

iD.Twisted: Hehe.

Erwin Bakker, Male, 19, and you live in the
Netherlands, all the while maintaining with
such a sexy race as Zerg. How do you do it?
iD.Twisted: Always
on top, if you know what I mean.
teamareola.com: How
much do you practise a day, now that WCG is
coming?
iD.Twisted: I'm
not really practicing yet, I'm not sure if
I'm gonna practice that much for WCG Netherlands,
as top 4 gets a seed. Sad thing is that we
have to pay for our own ticket, but me, Strafe,
Nazgul and Ret are all willing to pay for our
own tickets. I should start practicing though >_<
teamareola.com: So,
who do you think your greatest challenge for
1st will be?
iD.Twisted: Hm..
I think all 3 (that is: Strafe, Nazgul and
Ret) are all equally challenging for me, it
just depends on how well it goes for me I think.
I don't really have nervosity problems anymore,
as I have some experience on LAN now.
teamareola.com: Then
I guess you're nearly guaranteed a spot in
San Francisco. How do you think you'll fare
there? Who are you expecting to meet?
iD.Twisted: Yeah,
I kinda am guaranteed for a spot, I'm already
busy with some things I need to take care of.
I don't have a clue how I'll fare there, I
think I'll try to make it out of the groups,
and after that who knows. All depends on who
you get to play I guess. I will most definitely
practice for it after WCG Netherlands, when
I'm 100% sure that I'm going. I'm hoping to
meet a lot of iD members, and some other guys
that I know are going

your favorite matchup still ZvT?
iD.Twisted: Hmm,
yes, I think so. The things you can do with
ZvT are really sexy.
teamareola.com: Speaking
of which - what would you say would be the
sexiest move you've performed in a game, or
the best game you've played, or both? Reps,
perhaps? *bling bling*
iD.Twisted: My
memory ain't too great for something like that...
hm... anything with queens and defilers is
of course really cool. Best game I don't know
either ;D I play so much so there's a lot of
games where I feel like I'm playing really
good. Even today I played a wgtour game with
queens and defilers. It didn't really win me
the game, but it was still sorta cute.
iD.Twisted: It's
hard to be sexy with Zerg, as well >_<

do you think are the top 3 players in the world
right now?
iD.Twisted: Ah.
Mondragon for sure, then Testie I guess, and...
God this is hard I'll be biased and nationalistic
and say Strafe!

Eri doesn't make the list? ^_^
iD.Twisted: Had
to be nationalistic otherwise sure
teamareola.com: Speaking
of Testie - didn't you and he have a going-at
a few months back during the All Star Tournament
finals? :O
iD.Twisted: Yea
we did, I was pretty pissed back then, and
that's all in the past. Now I think he's pretty
nice, only thing I still find is annoying is
the mass smily :-O

you think you play StarCraft out of addiction,
because you're good at it, or is it just because
it's still the best game out there?
iD.Twisted: Because
it's still the best game out there. I just
play for fun, as I don't really have anything
else to do. I also play what I like, I'm not
practicing or trying to get good. Prior to
tournaments I always try to look at maps and
how to play them, but I won't spend a full
week only practicing certain matchups etc.
Speaking of Eri, he plays a bit like me, just
casual, not really caring about practicing.
School starts anyway on Monday, and then I won't play
as much as now.
teamareola.com: How
will you make up for the loss of school when
you go to San Fran? Will you need a note from
your mother?
iD.Twisted: Actually,
I have a school excursion which is mandatory
at the time of WCG, but if I have a valid reason
not to go there, I just have to do some other
assignment. Teacher says that it will take
longer than the excursion so that's gonna suck,
but I really wanna go to SF

suppose.

would you say would be, in your eyes, the best
SC2?
iD.Twisted: Hmm...
not much change from StarCraft! I hope it won't
be like War3, slow-paced and low unit, newbie-friendly,
etc. They should just make StarCraft with some
nicer graphics or something, lol. I don't think
they can make a better SC anyway if they tried.

was hoping you'd say something like "hero system" so
then I could flame you. Stop being so perfect!
iD.Twisted: Well

guess. If you somehow got really really good, and were
offered a pro gaming contract, would you accept?
iD.Twisted: No,
I find school/social life more important that
Brood War.
teamareola.com: Good.
Do you have a girlfriend?
iD.Twisted: At
the moment, no. No clue why you find that so interesting though
teamareola.com: For
all your groupies, obviously!
iD.Twisted: I'm
not really searching right now, I'm just going
with the flow and seeing what comes on my way.
teamareola.com: Where,
and what do you study?
iD.Twisted: I'm
just starting to study at higher profession
school (Dutch to American translation - it's
just under university), in civil engineering.
I just graduated from Gymnasium last year.
teamareola.com: Yeah,
same thing in Poland, so I know what you mean. What do you play on doing later on?
iD.Twisted: Plan,
you mean?
teamareola.com: Er. Gosu

iD.Twisted: I
guess the usual stuff: study, get a job, get
a wife and children. Nothing really flashy
like searching for world peace.
teamareola.com: Then
what do you want to acquire with your degree
in divil engineering (when you get it)? *civil.
Wtf, divil. GO AWAY CANADA!!!
iD.Twisted: I
don't really know, first 2 years of my study
I'll be orientating, after that I have to specialize
myself in a part of civil engineering. But
there's still 2 years to go before I have to
decide on that, so I can't really tell yet.
